Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Her parents, a dentist as well as a teacher recognized and supported her love of theater and acting at an early age, which was more important than a desire to be a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. Photographing is a love of hers and she has been exhibiting her work at the Arles festival in France under the name Superficial. She is a photographer who focuses on celebrity, fame and the media that scrutinised her after her rise to fame with Amelie. Additionally, there are numerous photographs of her own self. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and acclaim with her key performance in Le Fabuleux of Amelie Poulain. Amelie has been a box office hit internationally and has been recognized in numerous international awards ceremonies. Amelie is the most successful French-language film in the US. Following this success Tautou starred in numerous films from British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
